After Effects WMV rendering problem
I recently started a new job and have been given a box running After Effects 7.0 on a Windows XP SP3 system, Intel Xeon 2.79GHz, and 1GB of RAM (I know, I need more RAM; they don’t see it that way).
Anyway, I often need to render small files to email to clients for approval and WMV seems to be the way to go simply for the small file size. However, whenever I try to render out as a WMV, I get the following error:
After Effect: AEGP Plugin Media IO Plugin:
Unknown Windows Media Error.
MediaIO2 error: 0xffffffff
(5027 :: 12)Clicking okay brings up a second error saying basically the same thing but adding UNRECOGNIZED EXCEPTION to the mix.
I’ve scoured both Adobe’s support site and the Cow for an answer and nothing I’ve found seems to fix the issue: disabling the Layer Cache in the Secret preferences, checking for updates, making sure the video/audio outputs match in the WMV box and the AE render box… Still get the error.
I’m completely at a loss. I’ve found a couple of very convoluted workarounds, but I’m getting farther and farther behind and they’re taking way too long. Can anyone help solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
