  After Effects Wire Removal

  Does anyone know how to remove wires in After Effects? I’ve seen this in Hollywood effects all the time where a rig that holds something up is erased in post. Just to be clear, I know you can just take a clean plate of the shot and mask out the rigs, but that does not work well if at all in moving shots or when the rigs obscure something. I’m just curious about the technique used for this.
