  • After Effects Warning: Unable to mport file as project

Ok first off, I just formatted my drive in which all my after effects projects were still on. So since I didn’t back them up I figured I would just recover the projects from my drive. I extracted the old hard drive files on my external hard drive and copied the after effects files to my desktop. I reinstalled after effects and then tried to open the project file. I got this message saying

after effects warning: unable to import file “file name” as project

I have installed all other plug-ins such as direct-x and such, is there any files for the project I am missing?

    > just formatted my drive in which all my after effects projects were still on. < For the sake of decency, I'm not going to comment on this statement. > So since I didn’t back them up I figured I would just recover the projects from my drive. < Probably impossible. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
