  • After Effects – translate point of interest coordinates into rotation coordinates

    Hi all,

I’m in the process of creating an animation with sweeping lights (LUX). I have each light’s individual point of interest looping a figure of eight on the floor. That works great.
However…when I reposition the lights themselves, the point of interest’s motion path stays where it is. It does not move together with the light’s position.

Now I’m looking for a way to translate point of interest coordinates into light rotation coordinates. That way I don’t have to bother with point of interest motion paths and can move light AND movement together with no problem.

Does anyone has any pointers on this? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, that is something I’d like to know! I’ve tried once but failed ridiculously.

I wanted to do some robot head aiming to a wiggling object, if you get the answer it might help me too.

Just the one spot following a wiggling object? Can’t you just pick whip the spot’s point of interest to the wiggling object’s position properties?

    Greetz,
