    Hello all!

Well, my AE 6.5 on my dual processor 2ghz, G5 with 1.5 ram is stalling and giving me the spinning rainbow-ball cursor for the most trivial tasks. I’m talking about simply turning a layer on/off by clicking on the eyeball. Or, clilcking on a graphic itself in the canvas. I get the ball for around :30 to a minute and my mac sounds like one of the saturday morning leaf blowers. It seems to get progressively worse until I can’t take it anymore and I just quit the program. Then it’s better for a while until it starts up again.

Could it have something to do with ram disk settings or anything like that??? (what are your settings in the Memory & Cache prefs?)

    ~~ thx in adv ~~

    Two thoughts:

    1. Have you trashed the prefs yet?

    2. Have you tried this in a new project? There could be something about the footage you’re using, the location it’s stored in, or the effects you’re applying that’s causing this.

Out of curiosity, what comp size are you working on?
