    Bob,

Not too long ago, you helped me solve a problem I was having with my set up. You figured out the wrong setting was chosen on the back of the monitor. After I switched to component, everything worked great. Playback for FCP and AE were normal again and I no longer had to switc h settings to print to tape as AJA had suggested. About a week after this solution, all my playback viewing from AE in the NTSC monitor is purple and pink. FCP and the beta deck alone is fine. I changed nothing but the button in the back of the monitor from RGB to component and all was fine. Any idea on which direction I should go to get AE playback back to normal? It was fine until about a week ago and nothing has changed, unless someone other than myself is playing with the equipment when I am not here… very unlikely though.

    Thank you,
    Angelina

    Cheers!

Go into your AE preferences and make sure you have the correct output setting enabled. Perhaps you have an RGB setting enabled instead of a YUV setting. Select 525i 8 bit or whatever you are working in (dv for dv, 10 bit for 10bit, etc.)
