After Effects .mov files look darker in Final Cut Pro
Hi, i was compositing in After Effects Cs5, i rendered several clips, that look great in After Effects and in quicktime, but when i put that images on Final Cut Pro, they look darker, what can i do if i´m not able to render again from after effects, i didn´t save all the things i did in AE, i just rendered my work and is what i have now: my rendered .mov clips.
i just have my imac, and i see an external monitor (which is tv)using digital desktop cinema
What can i do? i need my work to be ready this week

And, why on earth wouldn’t you save the work you did in AE!? You may be starting to realize this now, but just in case you aren’t … that is a VERY, VERY bad practice. Project files are tiny … no reason at all not to save them … I have AE project files from ten years ago or more.

i´ve redered from after effects using a sheervideo codec (Sheer Y’CbCr 10bv[A] 4:4:4[:4]) , i´m not a pro into this, i used that codec because i readed in the web about it´s lossless features

yes, what a mistake not to save all, i´ve started using AE this month, i have saved some of the archives, but i don´t have all of them now, that´s my problem, i need to fix the archives outside AE

If the files are encoded with an RGB codec, you can alter their gamma in FCP. Select the clip, hit Cmd-9, then right-click on Gamma (Source) and choose the correct gamma.
Alternately, you can use the 3-way Color Corrector (or Levels) to tweak the gamma.
For future reference, you might want to look into color management in After Effects [link]. ProRes roundtrips cleanly from FCP to AE and back.

I almost always work in ProRes 422 in FCP, and I almost always render to ProRes 422 from AE for FCP. If I need transparency, I’ll use ProRes 4444, PNG, or Animation.
Sheer is nice, but ProRes is good enough that I don’t think Sheer is necessary anymore.
