Ok, i dont think its my computer or Capture Card. It also might not be how i am rendering out. I read a post on how a guy was having the same quality problems i am haveing. From the moment i import into After Effects CS3, my quality is awful. I was Capturing with a Dazzle 90, and using VirtualDub but now i bought a ATI Tv Wonder 650 PCIE and VirtualDub. My quality is awesome, until i import into After Effects. The problem i think i might be having is when importing into After Effects its Downgrading my footage. Im not sure on how to fix this. I think this is the problem because my footage looks crystal clear After i capture but as soon as i import it and watch it in After effects it looks awful. I have spent weeks and hundreds of dollars on trying to fix this problem, if anyone has a solution or any input it would be greately appriciated.

    Thank you,
    Matt

You’re dealing with a basic misunderstanding of AE’s interface. You are probably using a low rez setting on the canvas. Time to break out the manual.
After Effects does nothing to your footage when you import it, your project merely points to the file. Nothing happens to your footage until you place your footage into a comp and even then you must apply filters or do something to it in order to make any changes to your footage.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
