After Effects keep joining my pen lines without being asked to
Hi guys,
I’m trying to create a very simple stroke that trims from one end to the other, however for some reason whenever I make create the line using the pen tool the tool will automatically join the start and end point together.
I can’t work it out. I’ve tried the “mask and shape” “closed” but it’s not working.
If anyone knows why this is happening I would be so appreciative to know!

Hi Georgia. Do you mean that the path jumps and joins up – that as you follow the visible path around it is closed? The reason I ask is that if you have an open path and the Fill is not set to Alpha you will have the fill showing and looking like the start and end points are joined.
