November 23, 2012 at 5:11 amOnce you had confirmed that audio-only and audio+video scrubbing was the issue, you should have embarked on a couple of procedures to confirm if your issue was AE (or AE + hardware) or simply the audio file itself.
If you haven’t done so, try working in a new project with another audio file that has the same attributes BUT comes from a different source. Lots other related tests but hopefully this will get you onto the right track to troubleshoot the issue.

November 26, 2012 at 2:27 pmI created a new project and insert another audio file and it worked. The audio file was an .mp3. I converted the audio file I need to use to an .mp3 and it worked on my laptop, but will not work on my iMac this morning.
Adobe After Effects CS6
Running Mac OS X 10.7 also tried it on Mac OS X 10.8
3.1 GHz Intel Core i5
12 GB of Memory 1333 MHz DDR3
All programs are updatedMy After Effects is freezing every time I try to scrub the play list and listen to the audio using the Command scrub option. I was using an .aiff, .wav, and mp3.

November 26, 2012 at 4:33 pmThis is incredibly frustrating. It works randomly for a few minutes and then crashes again. Currently I am using a .aif file and my audio hardware settings in after effects are set it Built-In Input/Built-In Output and Buffer size: 2048.
I am at a loss, and I need to make progress on this project. Any help out there?

November 26, 2012 at 6:17 pmHave you tried working with another audio file to ascertain if the issue is with audio, in general, or specific, with regards to this file?
BTW, I’ve read that folks can get better mileage by using QT or AVI instead of aiff or WAV to resolve strange audio issues.

November 26, 2012 at 6:34 pmYeah, I tried a different audio file, a different audio file format, and a completely new projects with all new files to eliminate the possibility of corruption.
