  • After Effects glitches during render output and preview

Hi, I just upgraded to After Effects CS3 because of some serious issues with version 7 on Intel Mac. The problem I am having with CS3 is that it chokes on quicktimes during render and preview. What happens is, layers in the quicktime format will strobe, flash back-and-forward, or still frame. Purging all will fix the problem sometimes, or not at all. It always comes right back. The problem is inconsistent, and happens differently each time. What works for me is turning those QT’s into SGI sequences, but I don’t feel I should have to take an extra (time-consuming and un-necessary) step just to use a QT. Is this a known issue? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -steve.

    AE 8.0.0.247
    QT 7.5
    Intel-Mac 2x2Ghz
    7GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT OpenGL
