I’m working with DVCPRO HD 720p 24p footage in After Effects CS3. As I’m working with clips doing everything from corner pin shots to color correction I’ve noticed repeatedly a weird flicker when performing a RAM preview and even through to the final Exported Clip.

Has anybody experienced an issue like this and if so, what causes it and how can I fix it?

The symptom is a flutter or flicker of the clip itself and it can best be described as going from low contrast to mid-contrast of the color of the clip and it happens intermittenly through the RAM preview and export. What’s odd is that it’s never consistent through out my workflow. If I change a keyframe or move the clip in the timeline, the flicker/flutter will be different. I’ve had this problem on other machines as well ranging from both Mac Pro to PowerPC G5.

Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Charles

Some people have said that turning off opengl and/or using animation codec instead fixes the problem. It’s very strange that this problem is so widespread, including Prorez codec too, even though its intraframe.
