  • After Effects Error on Export

    Hi,

Trying to export a composition as a Quicktime (in fact, as all different kinds of formats) but AE tries… and fails to make it. I get this error message:
    “Quicktime export failed (-2166)”.

Have tried all different combinations of resoutions, frame rates and compressors but I keep gettting the error – very frustrating!

I’m using a Mac G5, with heaps of RAM and drive space.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can export? Would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    ALEX KUZELICKI

Are you using Composition>Make Movie? You should.

I only use “export” for SWF.

As steve said, if you are exporting with the export drop down menu try using the Render Cue (CRTL+M) instead. To export in Quicktime change the Output Module settings.
