has anybody encountered this one when bringing in footage to after effects? I am trying to import some animation (rendered from max) that my workmate has previously successfully opened in AFX 6.5, but I get this error when I try and bring it in using 7.

I got the exact same error just last night. It was an avi file that I was bringing into AE. Does anyone know what this means? Is it a encoding problem? i suspect it has something to do with DivX.

Doesn’t matter what version you have, you don’t have that codec. The file you have was encoded in a specific way and you need the codec(decoder) to decode the file in A.E. Find out how it was encoded on the file and do a search on the net for the codec.
