  • After Effects CS6 11.0.2 crashes when using the pen tool (Mac OS X 10.8.2)

I’m using After Effects CS6 11.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.2. Whenever I use the pen tool to add a vertex, the application crashes. I’ve submitted several crash reports to apple (they get sent to apple automatically when the app relaunches).

    My specs:
    iMac
    21.5-inch, Mid 2010
Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3
    Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
    Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)

Anybody else having this problem or have a solution?
Please help I have a lot of rotoscoping to do and I have to finish a project before Monday

I found a remedy (NOT a solution, but it lets me continue working): It only crashes when i edit that one mask path, all the masks work fine, so I just duplicated the layer and started a new mask and it worked fine. I’m still curious as to what could have screwed up that one mask though

SOLUTION FOUND: Turns out one of my 3rde party plugins was for some reason causing this crash

Do you have any third-party effect plug-ins installed? If so, remove them from the plug-ins folder and restart After Effects to see if any of them are the culprit.
