I just installed the AE CS3 preview on my computer. I tried copying my 3rd party effects from 7.0 into CS3 and none of them are recognized by CS3.

Does anyone know if Adobe is planning on supporting older plugs in the final release of CS3? And, more importantly, does anyone know of a way for me to get these plugs to work in CS3 now? =)

Nevermind, I found that it’s an issue with trying to use Mac Plug-Ins compiled for PPC on an Intel Mac =/

You can force AE CS3 to launch as an emulated PPC application by going to Get Info window in the finder and clicking “Open using Rosetta”. Of course, you won’t be happy with performance 🙂

You can bet that the vast majority of third party plug-ins will be already updated for CS3/Mac Intel the day the final version ships.
