    Hello anyone,

Is there anyone ho know howe to create the effect of Frames in Train in after effects CS3.
(like Discovery program seconds from disaster)
The effects begins with a full screen frame of video, then in 3D it’s getting smaller en we see about 8 seconds of video in frames (like foto’s in a train) moving on a path.
In the middel we pull after 4 seconds a frame withs will scale to full screen and the live video is starting.

Thanks in advance en sorry for my bad english.

Can you link us to a video from the Discovery program you are trying to mimic?

    Hi Jason,

Let me introduce myself: my name is Rudy and fore about 8 years i am editing on Avid editing systems (at this moment on the Avid Mediacomposor Adrenaline) An client of me asked if it is possible to remake the effect he has seen on NGC (sorry not Discovery) Mostly just on the program “Seconds from disaster”. I’f tryed to lokate this on the internet, but as usueal i can’t find it at this moment.
So may be i can explane it more in detail.
We have some video (full screen), at a surcum time we freeze the picture and we wil send it in Z space (so backwards into the screen). At that time we see in 3D the rest of the frame’s behind the first one (like domino pictures curved behind the first one). The train or domino picture’s then slowly cum towards the viewer and the next second of video (in frames) wil pass. Let we say that on the 3the second of the video we pick up a frame and bring it with a nice curve to full screen video.

So,… in let we say 6 seconds of video (6 times 25 frame’s Pal.) we see 6 times different videomaterial passing by and on the 5the second of video we take a frame out of the train/domino to fill up the screen.

I am searching for an example and send it to you the minute i found it.

    Any questions….please ask me.

    Thanks in advanced.

    Here’s the clip.

I guess you’re talking about the open at :50. It looks like video layers arranged in 3D space with an animated camera.

    Gary,

It’s looking but not the same i wanted, In my question the stil’s (or frame’s) of video is not horisontal placed but behind each other. I still can’t find an example on the net, sorry.

My advice is to look for tutorials on “3D space” in AE and perusing the help files for 3D in AE.
Once you understand the principles of working in 3D in After Effects, it should be clear to you how to achieve this effect. What Gary says still pertains to your issue.
