8.0 CS3 – 720×486 comp, rendering to animation codec with 48k audio, render is crashing at the same place giving me an error [/Metaloaf/pro/ext/adobe/MediaCore/MediaLayer/Make/Mac/…/…/Src/Importer/FileImporter.cpp-1099

i click ok and then i get this message:

After Effects can’t continue: An Input Contract Violation Has Occured

    I already have:

muted multiple layers and tried to rerender
    changes output codecs
cleared all caches and purged all files
    tried rendering without audio
did not use any third party filters.

all this on a power mac g5 quad, ae 8.0 cs3. what else can i try?

Sounds like a corrupted footage. Double-click each layer to see if you can find the offending layer. If you can’t, then try rendering a couple of frames before and after the ‘problem frame’. When doing this, turn off one layer. Repeat for subsequent layers until you find the culprit.

    Cheers

I got the same noticed.”contract violation” notice. There was nothing wrong with my footage. I had to rename the footage files, because they were labeled too long.

My guess is if you cant see the entire name of the footage in the project panel, then AE will have an issue recognizing what type of footage it is to preview it.

I renamed my files to something shorter and I’m back in business.

    Hope that helps.

I get the error [..\..\Src\Importer\FileImporter.cpp-1099] whenever I try to render or export from AE CS3, in quicktime or AVI format.

Some of the files have been replaced by setting the proxy (right-click and set proxy) and so have a small black box next to the filename in the project window… but the names are all stuff like 10293857.mpg.avi (a result of changing the movie format using SUPER). Also all my footage files work in AE, when double-clicking on them in the timeline window, but when double clicking in the project window the sound works but I don’t see any video.

    Any help is much appreciated…
