After Effects CC 2014 (13.0.1) update resets trial
This update just includes one change, which resets the trial period so that people who have used the free 30-day trial of a previous version of After Effects can try the new version.

And it screws up any preferences you may have set up. So, if you’ve got AE set up the way you like it, I’d suggest skipping this update.
