Does this happen only when trying to open a specific project or any project?
Have you tried trashing the preferences and starting AE again?

I’m suddenly having the same probelm just today. I have used this program plenty on this system with no problems and then I get this message with error code (0::42) all of a sudden today.
What gives?
It seems to be crapping out when I try to import items.
