after effects: can do realtime with “faster” but not with “accurate”
hey guys,
can anyone tell me why this is?
i used to work on a g5 mac with blackmagic out to a crt broadcast monitor, and it was perfect. full res real time previews.i’m now on a mac pro intel at a new company, and the computer they’ve put me on has a bm decklink hd extreme. this can play hd realtime in full quality from final cut pro, but i can’t get the same results out of after effects, even in pal.
in ae, there are two options for previewing: faster and accurate. faster pixelates the frame but gives me real time feedback. accurate gives the client what they want in terms of quality, but it won’t play real time, it goes about half speed.
i’ve been searching the net for a solution for a while, and can’t find anything in the bm documentation either. can anyone shed some light on the subject? there MUST be a way to get real time full quality pal/ntsc res previews out onto my client monitor.
thanks,
scott.
