After Effects and Geforce MX 4000
Posted by Meme Cordon on April 9, 2005 at 6:01 amHi, i just got a Nvidia Geforce MX 4000, with 128 MB, but when i use After FX, it crashes, i just click on the timeline to see another frame and it starts to proces and proces the image but it never outputs the frame, and i downloaded the newest drivers, but nothing seems to work, so, any ideas????

April 9, 2005 at 1:51 pmTry turning off OpenGL. That helped with my MX card.

April 9, 2005 at 6:01 pmI should have been more specific…don’t turn off OpenGL in your video card settings, but OpenGL previews in After Effects. That could be the source of the problem.

April 9, 2005 at 6:17 pmwell, thats what i did, i mean, first i tried AfterFX with the openGL, when i saw it crashed, i changed the “Fast Preview” option to “Adaptive Resolution”, and it still crashed…….

April 11, 2005 at 10:41 pmGo to Adobe’s After Effects supported OpenGL cards and find the latest SUPPORTED version of the driver.
The LATEST driver is not always the SUPPORTED driver.
They also have this message:
Note: Do not use Nvidia ForceWare driver version 52.16 with After Effects 6.5. This driver set causes severe application stability issues when using OpenGL.

April 14, 2005 at 3:22 pmi downloaded the ltest version, but it still crashes……but i tried something……when i render ALL the composition at once, it crashes on frame 951 (15%)….but if i render the first 10% then another 10% and then 80% it works well……..any thoughts??????

April 19, 2005 at 1:52 pmone other thing, i have a PENTIUM 4, 3ghz…..and it has HyperT, can that be the problem?????
