  after effects 7 choking on startup

  hello,

  after posting on the creative cow forum, i was sent here.
  so i’m hoping to some of you are still behing the screen instead of doing the easter thing. (my girlfriend, who is from poland, splashed me with a cup of cold water, saying ‘happy easter, this is a polish tradition!’)

  anyway,
  after effects doesn’t get past the loading of the user interface while starting up.
  its processor usage goes from 10 to 50%, and i have to stop the process in the task manager to stop it.
  i already tried reinstalling it.
  does anyone know that problem, or the solution to it?

  i’m running AE 7.0 pro on xp 64bit pro.
