  • After effects 6.5 and High definition 1080i – Help

Posted by Deborah on November 7, 2005 at 1:12 pm

    Hi everyone!

I currently use after effects 6.5 for DV with this resolution: 720×576 (PAL).
    I’d like to buy a 1080i camera.
My question is: is this resolution supported by after effects?

    Thanks for help!

    Debbie!

1920×1080, HD cameras with square-pixel aspect ratio is supported by AE. It’s essentially widescreen (16:9). For 1080i HDV cameras, ensure that AE interprets the footage with non-square pixel aspect ratios, specifically, 1.333:1.
The COW has a couple of great HD-related Forums. I suggest you pay them a visit for HD-specific assistance.

OK. I actually forgot about the CODEC for HDV. It’s MPEG-2, or .m2t and will likely require a CODEC installation. You’ll want to keep an eye out for this.
