after effects
Hello,
Im new using after effects, when i go to the drop down menu at the top i can not use any thing of the drop down menu any help on how to get them back ?

I recommend following Dave’s advice and looking for basic workflow methods, and develop your vocabulary/understanding of the application that way.
I can tell you what the problem is in your specific example though. Layers exist inside of Compositions, you have not created a composition in your project, so you can’t create or edit any layers because there is no composition to create or edit them in yet.
