Hi i’m on a project on after effect CC 18 and the preview is not working.
it’s only on one comp, the rest is fine. i have the eye on in the prevew and timeline pannels. the memory has been purge.
the preview launch the sound is on no lagg, but the image isn’t there.
I supposed it was because de CPU can’t handle it. (it a 8k graphic fottage wraped into a precomp) But the fact is, everytime i move the cursor the coresspondant image loads (it takes a bit of time but i’ve seen worst.) It is only when i hit play that the screen goes to black
does someone have an idea ?

Here’s a few things to try:

In the Preferences / Previews – set viewer quality to ‘Faster.’

In the Preferences / Media & Disk Cache – try turning off disk Cache

Check your preview settings in the extended Preview window. Try turning on/off ‘Cache before playback.’

Try reducing the resolution of your Preview.

Make sure Caps Lock is not on.

If you’re machine doesn’t have enough RAM to preview the 8K files then make proxies versions which should be much lighter to work with, when you export it will revert back to the full res.

Hope one of those suggestions gives you some joy;)
