    the easy way is to get into your preview preference and turn off opengl

    This wont affect anything will it…? like the final output etc…? Do i turn it back on after ive finished what Im doing…?

    If i turn it off will it stop me from previewing effects etc…?

    sorry for the brief answer, i was getting interupted (work… i tell ya). many people just disable opengl previews from the get go, because it can get kind of flakey in ae. also it really wasn’t much good until ae7 and even now it’s limited.

    you can also switch the preview render technology with the little button that has the lightning bolt at the bottom of the preview window.

    in response to your other question… no it won’t effect a thing, unless you happend to set your final render settings to specifically use opengl to render (it seems even adobe realized opengl was flakey when they implemented it, by default your final render settings use the statndard software render engine).
