    HI,

After Effects crashes when loading, just whet it says “loading user interface”. No error message, just crashes…
    any known issues?
I uninstalled/installed, repaired.. with no success.
I’m running: AF 7.0 on XP pro. 32b.

    thanks.

    AHHHHH!

The same thing happened on my Macbook Slow — I wound up having to actually wipe the windows end, then re-install. It kind of happens out of nowhere.

Does your screen turn blue? If you get the blue screen make sure all of your drivers are up to date — I’ve had that happen frequently also —-

Lastly, if it comes down to it, try a windows repair install.

    Had this on my Laptop,
move the Open-GL Plug-In out of your AE-Plug-In folder.
    Try to start AE now.
If it starts you might want to check the latest driver for your videocard.
But nothing garantees it’s an Opel-GL problem 🙁

Thanks a lot for your help.

    It’s not a openGl problem 🙁 ..

I did a new install (formated HD, windows new install) then installled AE , It worked fine the fisrt 2 times and then again it started to crash at startup.. I’ve no idea of what’s going on.

    thanks again.

Have you installed a lot of extra Plug-In’s ?
Could be that AE is hanging on one of them.
If you temporary move extra installed Plug-In’s to another folder on your hard disk, and AE starts up …..

trashing your AE preferences is another option,
    start AE while holding Control-Alt-Shift

    Finally it works 🙂
… I have no idea why, I did everything I could think of (even some voodoo dancing) in the end I have no idea what was problem.

Thanks for the alt+shift tip, I’m sure it will come in handy 😉

    Thanks.
