AE video w/ alpha channel to FC-Express/iMovie?
Posted by Tommi Härmä on November 11, 2010 at 3:13 pmI keyed out the green screen with AE and saved it with “RGB+alpha”. How can I import this to Final Cut Express or iMovie? Is it even possible?

November 11, 2010 at 8:04 pmYou should be doing all of your compositing OUTSIDE of the application if you are going to do things this way. iMovie and FCE don’t support codecs that carry alpha channels.

November 11, 2010 at 8:47 pmBy \”outside\”, do you mean that I should do all the compositing within AE? I find AE the best for keying. I\’ll just might ask, how do you split a video in a layer without making the rest of the clip a new layer?

IN After Effects? Got me. I just deal with the new layer. Why?
