    Greetings all,

Wondering what composition settings anyone uses to create a SD project in AE that will be imported into MCA for final output to a 16:9 monitor.

With those settings, are you able to create a .omf file when rendering your movie in AE, or are the settings such that you have to make it a .mov file?

Is there a preset in AE that makes this easier?

You can see where were going, so any guidance would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Tim Scarpino

as far as ae preset try d1 widescreen. the comp will be 720×486, but with a 1.2 pixel aspect to make it 16×9. this is the typical way to do sd 16×9 and the way media would be prepared for a widescreen dvd.

i think the omf should work, but you can always render a mov file too. just duplicate the output module then set one to render omf and leave the other at lossless. it won’t effect the render time, you’ll just get 2 renders.

I believe Avid’s widescreen dimensions are 853 x 480, which is unique to Avid and frankly rather annoying.
