Posted this over in the Premiere forum but maybe I’ll get more luck here:

Hi, I’m fairly new to After Effects but have a good deal of experience with Premiere. I’ve been making some compositions with levels of animated masked layers in AE, then importing the compositions into Premiere via Dynamic Link (all CS3). The layers are all 1080 24p P2 MXF footage.

Anyhow, most of the compositions import just fine… however, there are a few in which the animated mask appears to be off in Premiere by a frame or two. The image looks perfect in AE, but in Premiere it is distorted. It appears as if Premiere is thinking the animated mask should be a frame behind where AE tells it to be. In wider masks that are not animated or are only animated a bit this is not a big deal, but this mask in particular is highly animated, covering objects in fast motion, and so it just looks ridiculous when it shows up in Premiere. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening?
