• Adobe After Effects

  AE is slowing down my machine to the point of unusability.

  I’m on a really robust system:

  2 x Intel Xeon E5645 2.40GHz
  48GB DDR3 RAM
  Nvidia Quadro 4000
  OCZ 256GB SSD OS Drive
  1TB Raid-0 Media Drive
  Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

  Here’s my problem: I recently re-installed windows and Adobe Production Premium CS5.5. Everything runs great in the OS (including C4D) as per usual UNTIL I open After Effects. Even with the simplest of projects open, the whole machine slows to a crawl. I can’t even draw a mask without a 3-4 second delay on each point I draw.
  I’ve optimized all the settings I can think of.

  Any suggestions?
