I created a comp at 1440 by 1080 to bring into an HDV project in FCP 5, but when I bring it in, it’s stretched horizontally. Is there a preset comp size to use for HDV in AE? Also, why would it stretch it. I don’t think it’s a square pixel/rectangular pixel issue, or is it??

All I know is the footage from the camera is 1440×1080, 29.97fps, HDV 1080i60 Compressor. My only thought at this point is to go back and try to compensate for the stretch by changing the X scale in AE

In AE, I haven’t worked with HDV yet so I’m not 100% sure, but your Project Settings should be 1440*1080 with D1-NTSC Widescreen resolution (1.2). It sounds like you’re working with square pixels. Try changing the pixel aspect and see what happens.
