    Hello everyone,

Well, we have the Panasonic HVX-200, and once import clip via P2cards into FCP it looks awesome. The major problem is importing into AE 6.5 or 7.
Here is an example of what is happening:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is my clip from FCP (ah nice and dark)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is what it looks like imported directly into AE (Yikes! what happend here?!)
    BUT WAIT!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This was export from FCP as a QTMovie (w/PNG Codec) (ok little better, but not as good as source 🙁 )
Notice how it’s not as light? So, what is going on here??

I know that a brute force solution is to just simply Color Correct it, but there must be an explanation. Also note, SD footage seems to be immune to this problem.
    Please help 🙂

    Thank you!

    Dave,

Thanks for your reply. I have try what you said and it’s still lightening the footage. I was just informed about 2hrs ago that FCP has an upgrade for $100 (nice for Apple to do that to us FCP user 😛 )

This new upgrade is supposed to fix a gamma issue that happens when you send your footage to other programs or computer platforms.
So that might help FCP accept the correct gamma settings when importing a clip from AE…. That’s all I can think of for now.

    Thanks Again
