I recently added a Mac Pro 2.0GHZ/ 2 GB RAM to my After Effects operation. I have been experiencing severe render failures when trying to render HD files loaded with heavy effects (These files render fine on my duel 2.0 G5). I read several thread here that suggested decreasing the memory settings in the AE prefs. This definitley helps, but i am still experiencing crashes! Ive been setting the memory to 25% and the RAM to 100% which seems to work best, but I still get failed renders. I am even gettting failed renders when I try downconverting HD to 720×486…??!?! I am almost ready to sell this machine.. it’s useless to me if I cant render HD files! Any suggestions? is the new version of AE (native to this intel world) gonna solve this problem?? is investing in more RAM the solution?? Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    Yorgos
