I’m not so interested in using AE for all the marvelous graphic effects, but have seen comments on using it for uprez and deinterlace for SD video to HD.
As a process perhaps superior to Premiere deinterlace functions.
Does anyone have recommendations or workflows for this?
I’m currently working with CC versions from 2013 and 2014 but imagine I’ll have to update one of these days.
    Thanks,
    Robert

For upscaling in AE, I would suggest the Detail Preserving Upscale effect: https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/detail-preserving-upscale-effect.html

But I would also test upscaling in Premiere Pro with the maximum quality checkbox turned on in your output settings and then compare that to AE’s result.
