  • AE error message “not enough memory to create image buffer”

I am working from an HP workstation 8000 with 3gb of ram, using AE 6.5. My file size is not that big, a flat psd and a couple text layers, all 3d enabled, with an AE camera. Also a quicktime footage clip, however it is quite small also. I am getting an error message when trying to create ram previews and even when rendering out to quicktime movies sometimes that says not enough memory to create image buffer. It will quit rendering or ram previewing when it says this. I am usually a mac user, however this is a work computer and it’s a stupid PC so i’m kinda lost here. I’ve tried purging the disks and caches in AE, but to no avail. I don’t know why it’s doing this since the file size is not unusually large, and the computer has 3GB of ram in it. Help! please.
    Thanks a lot

I remember seeing this every now and then, for no apparent reason. Have you tried upgrading to 6.5.1? The patch should still be on the Adobe site.
