AE dynamic link not working in premiere pro
Hello everyone,
I’m having an issue with a PPro+AE composite project that a contractor sent to me (he organized the project as I had asked him to and that project works well on his machine). Caveat: I’m not a pro, but more of an advanced amateur in video and effects.
The master file is the PPro file, it has H264 video files, jpegs and AE comps. The AE comps have transparent backgrounds and appear next to a presenter in video.
The contractor sent me the files packed in a RAR file with a specific folder structure.
I unpacked the files in a specific folfer (rather low in the Windows 7 hierarchy) and kept the exact same folder structure as on the contractor’s machine (within the folder I had created).
Then I opened the PPro file. First it asked me to link to a pre-rendered file, which is not included in the RAR file to save space, so I skiped that.
Next, the PPro project opened, but none of the asset files were linked. I had to use the ‘link media” function to link videos and jpegs. But when I tried do to the same for the AE comps, it did not work. The ‘link media’ Win7 window opens, I could see the AE file, but when I clicked “select”, nothing happened: the window did not close, nor did it register the AE file.
None of these problems happen when a PPro+AE project is created on my PC.
So in summary:
1. How can I have all the files linked automatically for projects packed in RAR files, without using link media?
2. If 1. is not possible, how can link back the AE comps? Thanks for your help guys!
