    Hi!

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but the Vegas effect in AE CS5.5 only works on curved masks for me. If I paint a straight line (whatever angle), the effect doesn’t render. When I change the same mask to whatever curve, it renders. I DO have selected the right mask.

    What gives? Thanks!

Use a straight-lined mask BUT with at least 3 vertices.

No, sorry, that doesn’t work. Only curves. Really 😮

Try this with a straight line mask with two vertices –
    1) select the vertex that defines the end of the line
    2) select the (G)raphic Pen Tool and click AWAY from the original line you intend to have. Ensure that this additional vertex is at an obtuse angle to the last vertex and only slightly away, in distance.

Vegas should now draw itself, defined by the first two vertices that you drew.

So, ermmm, technically, YES. Vegas does draw straight lines. 😀

Yes Roland, your way works. One has to wonder how a bug like this comes to be 🙂

    Thanks.
