  • AE Cs5 Collect Files option is busted. Royally.

I have been having problem collecting files, either the file path name is too long (which I solved by putting the folder on the root level of the drive) or when doing a collection, AE says it can’t find a file to copy, although when you navigate to the file it says can’t be found, it’s sitting right there where AE says it wasn’t.

    Are there any work arounds?

    Thanks.

[Dave LaRonde] “Do you have Adobe’s free update to AE 10.0.1?”

    Definitely.

It seems to work both ways, sometimes After Effects can’t write to a long file path, and it also can’t look too deep in to a file path.

It sucks and is completely hindering how I have to hand this project back. It came as a mess, and now of course I’m trying to fix it.

I did a version of this, but it wasn’t easy, files were everywhere. This is obviously a bug.

[Dave LaRonde] “so I wouldn’t hesitate to send in a bug report:”

    Thanks so much. Very cool.
