  • AE CS4 can only ‘see’ one of my two processors

    Hi all

I’m running XP Pro, SP2 (SP3 makes my system run real slow). I’ve got 2GB RAM and dual 3.06GHz Intel processors. I know XP sees them both as I have a pair of entries in my “System Information” Summary panel, both like this:

    Processor: x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~3055 Mhz

Trouble is, AE CS4 only reports ONE processor in the “Memory & Multiprocessing” setup.

Am I missing something here? Do I have to tell AE that there are two to play with?

    Can anyone advise me please?

    Chris

Is this a P4 chip? If so, you don’t have multiple processors or cores. You have a multi-thread capable machine. AE’s multiprocessing requires multi processors or cores.

    Hi

Well… I thought it was a multi-chip system. I will now have to go and ask my tech man and see what he says!

Will definitely come back either way!

    Thank you for now.
