  • AE CS3 imports wrong layers from Photoshop???

    Hi,

I have a project with lots of 3D layers. AE is importing the wrong layers from photoshop with the wrong name and everything. This happened after I imported layers intially and arranged in 3D space, then edited the layers, and renamed them. I saved my PSD of course. I even deleted duplicate layers that were in duplicated backup group in PS. What a ballbuster! Any hints on how to fix/not have this happen again.

For the record I have been doing this very same thing forever on AE7 with no problems, duplicate layers etc.

    Thx,

    G

I on a Quad 3ghz Mac intel with 1O gigs of RAM

Forgot to mention that I have the ATI Radeon X1900

I did have Open GL enabled and shut it off just in case. Not sure if that worked or ever why it would. Also I reimported the layers as a comp again from my “master PSD”, and replaced footage in the timeline. That solved the immediate problem. Makes me very nervous though if I had deeper into this project it could be really debilitating.

Before I turned of open GL and or replaced footage…..can’t quite remember, the preview at half and quarter res was completely goated. I could only get a correct preview at full res. Also when moving camera in all preview resolutions wrong layers were blinking on and off, during rotation, pan, and dolly moves of the camera.

Biting my nails as I work,

I have noticed some .psd oddness in CS3. Layers disappearing or characteristics of masks changing. Quiting AE CS3 and restarting has cleared up the problem every time.

I’m not sure of the probelms have been creeping in when MultiProcessing is enabled or not.

    Thank you.

It works and gives me my confidence in AE back.

I think it’s triggered by grouping layers in PS. My best guess anyhow.

    Cheers.
