AE CS3 crashes on import Quicktime .mov
Hi there all.
I searched the forum and also found some people with same problem, but their solutions didnt work for me..
The problem: AE CS3 starts up fine, can use everything, so it all works like it should. But! When I import a .mov (quicktime), it suddenly crashes.
Specs:
Acer Aspire 5920g
Intel Centrino Duo 2 Ghz
2 Gb Ram
8600m GT 256 mb
Windows VistaCan anyone help me out? This problem is becomming a really annoying issue..

“quicktime” doesn’t help us much unfortunately. There are dozens of QT codecs, which one is this QT?
Has importing QT ever worked for you before?
Where did the file come from? Do you trust the origin? Can you open this file in any other QT-aware application like Premiere or QT Player? Flash Player?bogiesan

I have some new info:
Me and a friend of mine tried the following:
– he installed AE cs3 on his comp (vista home premium), and that worked just fine. Even with QT.
So, vista is not the problem.– i reinstalled everything, now i can import the .mov, place it in a new comp. But when i press play, or go to a frame at a random point, it chrashes.. So i thought id install XP on an emulator, to see if it was my comp. Tried the same thing, and AE worked just fine. QT did not give any problems there.
So, my comp is not the problem.I dont know what to do witht his info, or the problem, but its quite anoying.. Running it on an emulator to work with it isnt really the best thing, cause its really slow..
It could be a problem with settings, but cant find any.
Anyone else got a sollution?
