    Hello,
I have After Effects 6.5 running on Windows XP Home Service Pack 2. The Program appears to instal fine, and it launches with no problems either. Then I try to “import” or “open” and the program crashes. It completely disappears, no error messeges or warnings. it just goes away. I’ve tried reinstalling, updating, and searching for viruses. No luck. I just can’t figure it out. Please Help.

    Thanks.

What are you trying to import?
Could it be that the file you are trying to import is corrupted?
Or maybe it’s on a path with non compliant characters?

I don’t even get as far as selecting a file.
It crashes as soon as I select “import” no matter which way. Even when I drag and drop a jpg, tiff, QT…and those files I know aren’t corrupt.

    Weird right?
I’m wondering if its some driver conflict. But I haven’t been able to find anything about it.

Have you tried searching the COW on “crash” and “import”? One COW poster found the solution on the Adobe forums — it recommended that he update his nVidia graphics card drivers.
