  • AE crashing after illustrator import

I’m importing an ai. file into after effects and when trying to view the images I receive a number of pop up error boxes… ‘invalid container’ ‘ bravo error’ ‘unable to allocate memory’ etc.

This is first time I’ve had this problem with a project and I’m guessing it’s down to my illustrator file which contains a lot of layers (due to duplicating trees!)

Now is there any kind of fix for this? I thought my laptop specs would hold out:

    i7-4750HQ @2.00GHz
    16gb ram
    gtx 970m
    windows 10.1

Thanks, I may just have to mindful with the amount of layers I have in future

When I run out of memory and get too artwork heavy for AE to import (if that’s your problem),
I either have to break the file up into multiple files,
or I try to find a way to procedurally recreate duplicates (i.e. duplicate trees that are randomized may be able to be randomly placed in AE using a particle generator or a script)
