    hi,

just installed and have bad crashes.
i run a system with xp, geforce 6800 gt, pentium d 820, gigabyte 955x royal board.
    i installed sp2 for xp.
i dont know, why ae crahes.
    i tell the bugs:
i cannot open a project over menu. then ae crashes directly. but i can open a project, by clicking on the file, then ae opens.
i cannot drag a comp to a new comp, ae crashes.
i cannot use every plugin, ae crashes.
seems like a hughe problem, and maybe my system isnt set up correctly. also regcleaner cannot open.
someone an idea what i can do?

I’ve had problems similar to this in the past. Try deleting your AE preferences .ini file (or moving it to a dif folder) and restarting.

This file is usually located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\{USER NAME}\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\Prefs
(move or delete all the files in the dir.)

Have you tried rolling your system back using XP’s “system restore”?

    ….. i installed again sp 2 pack..

but: i can proudly present: works fine now. i installed again latest graphic drivers. maybe there were some difficulties.
so now my machine is running fine and smooth.
so just a silly system problem.

    thanx alot for your helpline.
