Is there anyway to get blending modes ala aftereffects in Media Composer? I use 3D Warp but I’m looking more for “Hard Light” and “Add” style blending of layers?

    Thanks

Once, long ago, I downloaded and used a blending mode plugin for the XPress.

I don’t remember where I got it, but I might still have it. I recall it worked pretty good, and it was free. I’ll check Monday to see if its still installed in one of my machines.

Don’t know if it is improper to mention the Avid.com forum here… but they have a post called “everything needed to get started” or something like that, and that post has a link to the plugin Jon mentioned. If you have BCC or sapphire plugins then your better off. In BCC it’s called BCC composite. Sapphire calls it Math OPS.

That’s the one – and I found it in one of my folders. If you can’t get it to work, drop me a line and I’ll email it to you.

Great plugin, but how does it work?
Put it in my AVX2_Plug-Ins folder, started AVID, nothing to see in the effects palette (MC 2.7.2 under windows)

    What am i missing?

The last time I used this (I believe it was with XPress 5.2) I did the same – maybe it doesn’t work with MC? But, that doesn’t make too much sense – the code for the software is essentially the same, no?

FINALLY after searching months and months, I’ve found the topic I was looking for.

Hi and I’m an FCP-to-Avid user that has Media Composer 5.5.3/Symphony 6.5.4.2 and I Downloaded the plugin but for some reason I don’t know where to put it. All I see in the Library folder is AVX2 Plug-ins. I’m on a Mac and my OSX is 10.7.2 Lion.

    can you please help me?
