AE audio help
I havent figured out how to mute a little section of my video, then resume the sound a few senconds later. Can anyone help please? thanks.

Apply effect>audio>stereo mixer, then animate the right/left levels with keyframes.
If the mute is instantaneous, set a key for 100% at the start, and make it a hold keyframe. (right-click on it and choose “toggle hold keyframe”) Then at the mute point, set a key for 0%. It will automatically be a hold keyframe. Then set a 100% key when the sound comes back.

Do as Steve suggested. Keep in mind that the Audio level is also keyframable. Another way would be to simply split your layer twice and switch off the sound icon for the part you want to mute.

Indeed. There’s more than one way to do a lot of things in AE. Keyframing the audio level (as Serge suggested) would be simpler than my suggestion, since it doesn’t have to be done twice (once for each channel). Splitting is fine too, of course.
I’ve just grown accustomed to using the stereo mix effect for fades, due to reports that it offers a better fade. But it’s not always necessary. 🙂
