Does anyone know if I can slow down the speed of the zoom handle on the JVC GY HM100U. I know that I can press on it lightly and it will zoom slower but it is really sensitive and always starts zooming fast again. I can’t find anything in the manual about this. Thanks sorry my crappy terminology

    Hi Mitch,

Sadly no! The zoom speed on the rocker isn’t variable (something JVC really should address in a firmware update – if possible).

The only way to get slow zooms is to be very, very gentle on that rocker (one thing that I found helps is to use some scotch tape taped front to back over the rocker switch so it’s harder to move. That gives more resistance thus makes it easier to zoom slowly). And of course the other option is to use the lens ring set to zoom mode.

    Sorry!

    André

Glad I could help Mitch, let me know if you happen to figure out other ways of zooming smooth ‘n slow on the HM100!

Good afternoon. I borrowed my neighbors’ JVY GY-HM100U and for some reason it keeps automatically zooming in. The on-line manual was not helpful. Is this a common problem/fixable?
