AE 7.0 does not see footage captured by Premiere Pro 2.0 as widescreen…

Can any one shed any light on this..?

I have just “repaired” a section of footage in AE 7.0 but it appears 4:3 rather than 16:9.
In the comp window the footage looks like 4:3 rather than the 16:9 letterbox…
I check the comp settings and they all refer to widescreen.. But it sure ain’t.. Just burned a test DVD with both the original and the AE adjusted on the Prem Pro time line. Resultant DVD looked fine until we got to the AE section… Perspective way off…

Do you have the interpret footage set to 16:9?

I have just looked into this.

My footage was indeed being interpreted as 4:3 rather than 16:9.
Once I changed it tho, the result was still very much the same..ie looked like 4:3
That said I could see the letterbox shape in gray araound the video but it still was not filling it!

Having delved further into this it appears all is as it should be..
FYI I am using a Matrox RT.X 100 card and it does not seem as wide screen as OHC 1394 generic capture. (Which is what my original footage was)

Having made adjustments in AE using 16:9 settings and then placing in time line against unadjusted clip (both clips captured by RT.X card) all perspective is intact.

Therefore we can draw a line under this one..

    Many thanks for your help
